There are so many things we can do each day to make our lives much more productive, positive & better.
But these 10 daily habits are the ones we should adopt for our overall health. These 10 habits will help you feel better from inside & out. When you feel better, you do better throughout the day.
So here we go:
- Make your bed right after you get up.
Don’t leave it for later because you will most likely forget or not do it. Do it first thing, make yourself stick to it as it is part of your morning routine. When your bed is made, you likely will finish other tasks during your day.
2. Plan for the day.
When you have a vision for the day, when you write out your schedule & tasks, you have more chances to do your things and get them done. Writing out your plans for the day will help you remember things that you might have forgotten to do. It will also help you make your day more productive & intentional.
3. Drink tea instead of coffee.
If you’re like me, who worries a lot, or who has or had anxiety issues, coffee can raise your heart rate and make your feel anxious & not focused. Decaf coffee is not the best alternative for our health. Instead, tea is the best alternative because it gives us the caffeine our bodies need. Tea helps to maintain our heart rate, make us feel calm, and help stay focused. My favourite tea is definitely green tea; it has so many health benefits and it contains enough caffeine to keep you awake & give you the boost that you need for the day.
4. Dump your thoughts on a journal.
Have a journal, write your heart out, whatever is in your brain, write them down and you will feel light from the inside. We often keep so much thoughts to ourselves and so often they make us feel lost in our heads and lives. When you write things down, it helps you clear out your mind and make space for important thoughts. It also helps you let go of negative thoughts that always stop you from thinking about the positives.
Speaking of journaling, one thing that you probably have heard is that gratitude is the key to happiness & success… As cliche as it sounds.. it is very true. When you write down what you’re grateful for each & everyday, you make yourself remember all the good things that happened to you and things that made you feel thankful. These are usually things that matter to you the most. When you feel grateful for things that you already have, you will attract more good things into your life.
Reading at least 30 mins a day can help you work your brain and learn new things. Reading is a great way to learn from people whom we admire and their stories will often inspire us to do better & become better persons. Reading is the best way to take notes about lessons that others have learnt throughout their lives. These inspiring people document all their experience and lessons into their books.
7. Go outside everyday.
We all know that it’s important for us to be in the mother nature and connect with it. However, when its cold outside we tend to hibernate and stay indoors ( I tend to do that also). It is very important to try to get out at least once a day to get some fresh air & just feel the outdoor vibes. This will help us stay refreshed & prevent us from being unmotivated.
8. Drink a lot of water ( at least 8 glasses/ day)
It is not that hard to drink a lot of water through out the day, but it is hard to keep it up everyday.. I tend to not drink as much of water if I don’t have the water next to me, so I usually carry a big reusable water bottle filled with water next to me so it reminds me to drink more often.
9. Skin care.
We only have one face & we should take good care of it. Skin care is also a form of self care. When your skin feels good, you can feel good. Research & find the best skin care routine that works best for you & your skin type. Don’t forget to put on sunscreen when you are outdoors, it is a must!!
10. Give hugs, complements and just be kind.
When you give hugs or complements, you send out good energy into the universe, and when you send out positive energy you tend to receive them back in different forms throughout the day. You will feel good when you make others feel good, or just be a kind person. This will not only make you feel good but you might just make someone’s day.
